“Chura Matar” A Special Snack Recipe From Bihar. This is one of the dish from “Dishes you must try in Bihar” 🙂
Generally this dish is made in winters for evening snacks to enjoy the chilling evening with a hot cup of tea with your family 🙂
Light snack to enjoy your evening tea.
Mainly it is made with Poha and fresh green peas but here I have used dry peas here. So if you are using dry peas soak them for 8-10hours and then boil them for 1 whistle.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
Poha/Chura
- 1/2 Cup poha/ chura
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 2 Dry red chilies
- Salt as required
Matar
- 1/2 Cup boiled peas
- 1 Small chopped onion
- 1/2 Small chopped tomato
- 2 Green chilies chopped
- 1/4 Cup chopped spring onion
- 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 Tsp red chili powder (adjust as per your taste)
- 1 Tsp cumin
- Oil
- Salt as required
Recipe:
Chura
Step 1- Heat oil in a kadhai and add dry red chilies. Saute for 15-20secs on medium flame
Step 2- Add chura/ poha and keep frying till light brown and crisp. Turn off the flame and add salt
Matar
Step 1- Heat oil in the same kadhai and add cumin seeds to crackle
Step 2- Add green chilies, chopped onion and fry on high flame. Once the onions turn light brown/ translucent add chopped tomatoes
Step 3- Once the tomatoes and mix well and starts leaving oil from sides add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and boiled peas. Mix well and fry for 2-3mins
Step 4- Now add the chopped spring onions and turn off the flame
Serve with Hot masala chai 🙂
